OCSO: Arrest Made in 2015 Murder Case

Curtis GreenORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — A 18-year-old man is behind bars accused of fatally shooting a man on Shadowlawn Drive in March of last year.

Curtis Green, who is currently being held by the S.C. Department of Corrections for an unrelated charges of grand larceny and possession of a stolen vehicle, will also be charged with the murder of 35-year-old Trejan Jenkins.

“We hadn’t stopped investigating this case since that day last year in March when Mr. Jenkins was found shot to death at his own residence,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. “It was only a matter of time.”

Witnesses at the apartment complex said they heard a brief argument before a single gunshot rang out, officials say.

Deputies found Jenkins dead of a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Investigators believe the motive in the fatal confrontation was theft of one of several vehicles parked at the apartments.

Authorities say they are working towards obtaining a court order for Green to be transported to Orangeburg for a hearing where he will be formally charged with murder.

“And that’s the saddest part of this whole situation,” Ravenell said. “This man lost his life because someone wanted to steal a car.”
