Fireworks Safety on this Independence Day

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — If your Independence Day plans call for fireworks, chances are, you’re either attending one of the Midlands July 4th events, or planning to light up your own. Fire Safety officials have a few tips:
Never let kids get their hands on fireworks.
Set fireworks off a good distance from houses, cars and the forest.
If a firework is not working, leave it alone. When you’re done with fireworks, place them in a bucket full of water. If you don’t feel like setting off your own fireworks, let someone else do the hard work. There are a handful of options for catching a display here in the Midlands. fireworks37-jpg_bim.jpg
