Break-In Reported at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando
A break-in was reported overnight at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, the Orlando Police Department said today, just one day after the club was released from police custody back to its owner.
Police did not immediately release additional details about the break-in.
ABC News reached out to Pulse’s owner, Barbara Poma, for comment.
One month and one day after the June 12 mass shooting at Pulse that killed 49 people, the property was released Wednesday from the control of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Orlando Police Department back to Poma.
“None of us will ever understand why this unspeakable event happened at Pulse, which was always intended to be a safe place for the LGBT community,” Poma said in a statement.
While Pulse was no longer in FDLE and Orlando police custody, officials said Wednesday that the investigation by the FBI and the FDLE is ongoing.
