Whitmire Man Arrested for Selling, Possessing Drugs
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – A Whitmire man has been charged with three counts of distribution of crack cocaine and second offense possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and marijuana.
Officers from the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office and Whitmire Police Department served a search warrant on 44-year-old Frank Jeter’s apartment Friday morning, police say.
Authorities say they found two grams of crack cocaine and 24 grams of marijuana.
The search warrant was the result on an ongoing law enforcement investigation between the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, Whitmire Police Department, and Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
“Sometimes citizens do not believe we are working because they do not see anything tangible for some time,” Sheriff Lee Foster said. “In today’s world, narcotics investigations are quite entailed and take time; however, we will not be deterred from working against and prosecuting these crimes. Drugs are not a victimless crime and lead to many property crimes, family violence crimes, and poverty.”
Investigators say that Jeter had previously sold crack cocaine to an undercover operative on several occasions during the ongoing investigation.
Jeter is being held at the Newberry County Detention Center.
A bond hearing has not yet been held.
