Police: 21 Westwood High School Students Transported After Pepper-Spray Incident
Richland County, S.C. (WOLO) — Twenty-one students were transported to the hospital Tuesday morning following an altercation on a school bus, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The department’s spokesperson, Lt. Curtis Wilson, tells ABC Columbia between 8:30 and 8:45 am a bus headed to Westwood High School was stopped on Hardscrabble Rd. when a fight between broke out between two females.
Wilson says one of the girls sprayed pepper spray in the bus.
He confirms that the 21 students who were on the bus at the time of the incident have been transported to a local hospital for observation.
No injuries have been reported.
