Former Gamecock Victor Hampton Arrested and Charged with DUI
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Columbia Police) — A 24-year-old man is charged with Driving Under the Influence and Driving Under Suspension.
Victor Tyrell Hampton (DOB: 3-12-1992) was arrested overnight at the 5000 block of Fairfield Road.
Initially, a CPD officer initiated a lawful traffic stop after noticing a vehicle traveling along North Main Street with one non-functioning headlight.
The vehicle also had front end damage which appeared to have possibly been in a collision. The officer spoke with the suspect and detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.
The officer conducted lawful field sobriety tests before placing Hampton under arrest. Hampton was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
