RCSD: One Toddler Dead, Another Wounded in Shooting

Richland County, S.C. (WOLO) — Update: Richland County Deputies say one of the toddlers has died from her injuries. The other remains in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident happened around 6:30 Thursday evening at the Meredith Square Town Homes off Brookfield Road near Richland Northeast High School.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call of shots fired at that location. Authorities say they are investigating a possible accidental shooting.

Investigators say both parents were at home at the time of the shooting and the father suffered an injury to the hand during the shooting.
