Police: Information Needed In Shooting Death of Sumter Teen

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) – Sumter authorities are asking for the public’s help with information about an early morning shooting death that occurred in the 200 block of Apollo Street on Wednesday.

A 17-year-old was found dead on the scene just after midnight.

Police say witnesses say told them they knocked on the door of a nearby residence and the occupant inside tried to pull them inside while shots were being fired at them hitting the teen.

Authorities say a person of interest in the investigation is no longer being sought for questioning.
