Lexington Middle School Student Found After Wandering Into Woods

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO) – Authorities with the Lexington County Police Department say their officers and other emergency personnel worked to get a child who went off campus into the woods.

The child has since been located and authorities say the child may have a leg injury.

Officials with the school district say the sixth grade student was dropped off by a parent at Meadow Glen Middle School, but did not enter the school and instead went into the woods nearby.

The school is located at 440 Ginny Lane in Lexington.

A press release from Lexington School District One goes on to say:

“During the day, the parent returned to the school to drop off the student’s book bag. The school then realized that the student was not at school.”

“The student was found in the woods nearby. However, she required assistance from getting back out of the area.”
