COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– As Hurricane Mathew churns , Governor Nikki Haley warns South Carolina residents that Storm Surge could be the biggest threat.

Among the concerns, Mathew is expected to be near the Coast by Beaufort at High tide.

Haley says the storm will hit at high tide and that will make things worse in Beaufort County.

Haley says stay in a safe place, get to higher ground.
