SC DNR Patrolling Pee Dee, River Rescues

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– State officials are monitoring the Pee Dee and Waccamaw rivers as the flooding potential could rise when the rivers crest.

SC DNR Officials gave an update on emergency operations , according to SC DNR there are 109 officers deployed providing search and rescue and high water recovery.

Officers with DNR are going door to door in areas where the waters are high, including the town of Nichols and parts of Florence county.

SC DNR officials say they are patrolling 24 hours a day in the hardest hit areas near the Pee Dee.
