Recreation Commission Executive Director Steps Down

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO) — Embattled Executive Director for the Richland County Recreation Commission, James Brown III has decided to retire. The Board accepted his decision to step down as the head of the agency effective last Friday.

The move comes a week after Brown was arrested on charges of trying to intimidate a state witness.

Within the past few months the Board has been plagued with a series of allegations including fraud, nepotism, and sexual harassment.

Brown still faces multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual harassment.
