SNAP Recipients in Areas Severely Impacted by Hurricane Matthew to Receive Replacement of Benefits
COLUMBIA, S.C. (PRESS RELEASE)- SNAP recipients who were residing in the following counties at the time of Hurricane Matthew will automatically receive a replacement of a portion of their benefits and do not need to go to the DSS office to request replacement benefits.

Beaufort
Calhoun
Charleston
Chesterfield
Clarendon
Colleton
Darlington
Dillon
Dorchester
Florence
Georgetown
Hampton
Horry
Jasper
Lee
Marion
Marlboro
Orangeburg
Sumter
Williamsburg
SNAP recipients in Richland and Berkeley Counties residing in the following zip codes at the time of the Hurricane will automatically receive a replacement of a portion of their benefits and do not need to go to the DSS office to request replacement benefits.
Richland: 29061, 29206, 29209
Berkeley: 29431, 29436, 29450, 29461
SNAP recipients in these counties/zip codes whose benefits were issued between October 1, 2016, and October 7, 2016, will automatically receive 50% of their October SNAP benefits to replace food lost as a result of prolonged power outages.
Recipients who did not receive their October benefits before the storm will automatically receive 25% of their September SNAP benefits to replace food lost as a result of prolonged power outages.
The automatic replacement benefits will be available on eligible households’ EBT cards on or before Friday, October 21, 2016.
