Governor Haley Issues Executive Order Seeking Removal of Richland Rec Commission Members

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–Thursday Governor Nikki Haley issued an Executive order in regards to the Richland County Recreation Commission Board Members.

In the Executive Order from the Governor, it states,  I hereby provide written notice to all members of the Richland County Rec Commission of the specific charges brought against them showing cause for removal from office. I hereby provide reasonable notice of an opportunity to be heard at a public hearing to be held on November 30, 2016 specific time and location to be determined.

The Richland County Rec Commission has been under fire after allegations of sexual harassment and nepotism surfaced concerning the Commission’s Director.

Last month Governor Haley had requested the board turn over an internal report on the allegations against the former director James Brown the third.
