Puppy Burned in Richland County-Sheriff Seeking Information

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Richland County deputies say a man set a puppy on fire in a church parking lot, killing the animal. Authorities said a witness called 911 after seeing a man burn the 10-week-old pit bull puppy around 7 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot near Irmo. Investigators say the man was gone by the time firefighters and deputies arrived. He has not been found. Authorities say the puppy was rushed to an emergency veterinarian, but died from its injuries.
