Saving Eliza: Birthday Milestone

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– A hope for a miracle has now turned into a quest for treatments and a cure for others and a special Birthday.

Glenn and Cara O’Neill started a Go-Fund Me campaign back in 2013 to help fund a clinical trial so their daughter Eliza might have a chance at treatment for Sanfillippo syndrome, a rare genetic disorder.

They raised over $2 million, and after 726 days in self imposed quarantine, Eliza finally began her treatment in August.
Now, in honor of her 7th Birthday, they hope to raise $300,000 in ten days to help other children in their fight against the disease.
