COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is partnering up with the United States Parents Involved in Education (U.S.P.I.E.) and the Institute for Emerging Leaders, Incorporated. They’re working to educate teens on the importance of abstinence.

Sheriff Leon Lott says this is a first for a law enforcement agency to implement an evidence-based abstinence education program for youth and their families. According to Lott,  this partnership aims to increase awareness about the benefits of young adults abstaining from sex until marriage.
