RCSD: Pair Forced Minors They Met on Facebook to Perform Sex Acts

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Two people are in custody and face sex trafficking charges after deputies say they forced four minors they met on Facebook to perform sex acts in exchange for money at a Bush River Road hotel earlier this month.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Michael Carter, 31, and Shalil Alford, 25,  forced the victims ranging in age from 15 to 17 years old to perform the sex acts at the Days Inn located in the 1000 block of Bush River Road sometime between November 11th and November November 13th.

Authorities say Carter is charged with three counts of trafficking in persons and two counts of criminal sexual conduct and Alford charged with one count of trafficking in persons.

Carter turned himself in to investigators on November 17th and Alford later turned herself in to investigators on November 23th authorities say.
