Earn Your Wings With a Couple Simple Steps

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–Growing a large white beard and feeding reindeer isn’t a prerequisite to make a Midlands child happy this Christmas.  Once again this year, you have the opportunity to join The Salvation Army and ABC Columbia in participating in the Angel Tree Program.

Now  through December fourth, while you are shopping for your family at the Columbiana Centre and Columbia Place Mall, you will find a tree with a child’s name on it, along with some items they want or need for Christmas.

All you have to do to become that child’s angel is take the card, purchase the  items, and return them to the tree.

It seems like such a simple thing, but it can make a huge difference to a child at Christmas.

ABC Columbia is proud to partner with the Salvation Army once again this year in this program.

Another simple thing that you can do that has a large impact is a simple donation.  As you are doing your Holiday shopping, no doubt you will see and hear something familiar.  A red kettle, along with a bell ringer, hoping that your Holiday cheer may lead you to drop a dollar or two into the bucket, all to help the mission of the Salvation Army.

According to Maj. Roger Coulson of the Salvation Army, over 82% of every dollar donated goes back out into the community to help families in the Midlands.
