Dylann Roof Found Guilty on all 33 Counts in Church Shooting
CHARLESTON , SC ( WOLO) — Dylann Roof has been found guilty on all 33 Federal charges in the murders of 9 black church members at Emanuel AME .
The jury read the counts one by one Thursday afternoon to Judge Richard Gergel and the court.
Roof stood emotionless as the verdicts were read in the Federal death penalty trial.
Roof was accused of shooting nine black church members at a Bible study at Emanuel AME on June 17, 2015.
According to the federal indictment Roof, 22, entered the church armed and “with the intent of killing African-Americans engaged in the exercise of their religious beliefs.”
The trial will head to the sentencing phase next, which is set for January 3rd.
