Duane Notice and Rakym Felder each scored 19 points as USC improved to 2-0 in league play, beating Texas A&M Saturday 79-68. Trailing 38-36 at the half, the Gamecocks took control of the second half early, then answered Aggies runs throughout a game that featured 10 lead changes.
Carolina (12-3, 2-0) also received strong contributions from Sindarius Thornwell and Chris Silva. Thornwell returned to the Colonial Life Arena hardwood for the first time since December 1 following the end of his suspension for violating athletic department policy, which lasted six games in total. The star senior guard added 16 points and 7 rebounds, while Silva posted 15 points and 6 boards.
Texas A&M (8-6, 0-3) forward DJ Hogg had a game high 25 in the loss.
