Free Fridays at Riverbanks Zoo: Richland and Lexington receive free admission into the park every Friday for the months of January and February, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests will need to provide a valid driver’s license, property tax statement or vehicle registration as proof of residency.

Night at the Museum: You’re invited to spend at night at the State Museum this Friday. You’ll get to learn from real astronomers as they explore the vast reaches of space. Admission ranges from $28 to $35.

Grinding of the Greens: Turn in your undecorated Christmas trees through Thursday, January 12. Free mulch from the recycled trees will be available to the public this Saturday, January 14, from 8:30 a.m. until the mulch runs out at two locations: Seven Oaks Park, at 200 Leisure Lane, and the State Farmers Market, 3483 Charleston Highway, West Columbia.
