Toddler Shot In Alleged Drug Deal

Orangeburg, SC (WOLO) — A two year old toddler continues fighting for her life this morning after authorities say she was shot in the head as she rode in the backseat of her fathers car. Authorities believe the incident was the result of a drug deal gone terrible wrong.

Police say the gunfire erupted Saturday night on Bonner Avenue in Santee. Authorities say the toddler’s father, 33 year old Tyrone Randolph is accused of attempting to buy drugs when gun fire rang out during an argument with another man.  One of those shots stuck the toddler in the back seat of the car.

That little girl was transported to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where she has undergone surgery. No word Monday Morning on the toddler’s condition.

Randolph has now been charged with unlawful neglect.
