Overnight Fire Claims One Life
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – One person was found dead in a two story apartment building as firefighters battled an overnight blaze.
Columbia firefighters were called to the Plantation Court Apartments in the 200 block of South Saluda Avenue at 11:15 p.m. Sunday.
True Dent Henderson, 80, died from smoke inhalation.
The complex housed four apartments and five people have been displaced, officials say.
The incident remains under investigation by the Columbia Fire Department and the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
