It’s easy to blame a loss on fouls, but the fourth-ranked Gamecocks might have a point. On Tennessee last possession, with :10 to play and the score tied at 74, Carolina guard Tyasha Harris was called for a foul on Jaime Nared. The Vols guard went to the free throw line and sunk both foul shots to give Tennessee a 76-74 win at Colonial Life Arena. All-in-all, 21 fouls were called on Carolina, with four on leading-scorer A’ja Wilson and Center Alaina Coates. Dawn Staley says the fouls were a “definite hardship”.
