Columbia, S.C. (WOLO )— If you are under the impression that social media sites are helping you connect with others, a new study suggests you may be missing out.

The study looks at patterns of what people are paying attention to when they log on. Experts say that could create a bias where you are more drawn to or only pay attention to some of the same post or issues that you are already tend to favor.
