LEXINGTON SC (WOLO) — “When women say they don’t (want flowers) that really means you better do it,” says Florist Tim Lawing about the pending day of love, aka Valentine’s Day. Lawing, who owns Tim’s Touch Flowers in Lexington says there are lot of ways you can ensure you don’t become a “stupid cupid.”
If you have dinner plans, Lawing suggests calling ahead to the restaurant and having a small rose arrangement placed on the table prior to your arrival. If the message behind the red rose doesn’t necessarily match your intention, rainbow roses are a fun alternative. Lawing explains that each petal is made a different color, through a process of inserting a coloring solution into the stem of the rose.
Lawing says that if you are planning a nice bouquet, to contact a local florist – even if it means a Google search to another community. He says that often times people who take orders at the large 800 numbers may not be florists, or trained. Additionally, many services will the order, without having knowledge about what a specific shop has in stock, which could lead to a disappointing outcome.
Lawing also points out that dads shouldn’t forget their daughters.
“Don’t wait until February 13th,” warns Lawing, as it could spell “disaster.”
