Daisy Cakes and the Sharks that stay connected

Kim Daisy, creator of Daisy Cakes shares her post Shark Tank success with Tyler Ryan

SPARTENBURG SC (WOLO)–Kim “Daisy” Nelson had a great idea…produce ridiculously good cakes, and ship them around the world.  It was in 2011 Kim heard about an ABC show called Shark Tank, that looked for great ideas to fund.  She told Tyler Ryan on Good Morning Columbia that after making her way through some 20,000 applicants, she found herself in front of the “Sharks,” pitching her idea on national television.  It was Barbara Corcoran who offered Kim her dream shot – $50,000 to take the small company to the next level.  After a moment of thought, Kim agreed, and the rest is yummy cake history.

Five years later, Kim has increased her cake output from 2,000 a year to roughly 20,000 annually.  “It has been so amazing,” Kim says, going on to say that one of the best parts is the constant contact she has with Barbara.

The show, that focuses on entrepreneurs and ideas, has now passed the $100 million mark in investments, and continues to be a favorite of not only viewers but dreamers who have the next best thing.
