FLORENCE, S.C. (WPDE) — Nicole Marie Kisamitakis, 39, is charged with assault and battery second degree after she assaulted a Florence County Detention Center corrections officer last week, according to Major Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

The attack happened when the officer tried to deliver requested items to Kisamitakis in her cell, Nunn said.

The officer was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. There is no word yet on their condition.

Kisamitakis was being held at the detention center on a burglary charge on a $15,000 bond. Nunn said an additional bond for assault was set at $2,500.
