Columbia Police Make Arrest in Connection with Fatal Hit and Run

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Columbia Police say they have made an arrest in connection with a fatal hit and run Friday.

Police say a Crimestoppers tip led to the arrest of 19-year-old Alex Carolyn Graves as a suspect in the hit and run.

According to police, Graves faces charges, including, failure to render aid, no driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle.

 

According to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts, the victim, 67-year-old Alicesene Dear Gilmore died from blunt force trauma to the torso.

Graves is accused of hitting Gilmore with a white, 2000 Ford Crown Victoria and failing to stop and render aid to the victim who was walking across the street with two relatives, say police.
