COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–The next time you head to the ATM, you may want to think about skimmers says Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott.

Lott says skimmer devices are being placed on atm’s. Lott says the devices read data from unsuspecting customers debit cards.

But there are ways to detect whether a skimmer is on the atm, says Lott.

Lott says just grab and pull the slide where your card would go, a skimmer would come right off.
