I-20 Suffers Major Failure, Buckles Under Drivers in Georgia

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (WSBTV) – Interstate 20 westbound will be closed for an indefinite amount of time as crews figure out the cause of a massive road buckling.

All westbound lanes of the interstate have been blocked as crews assess the situation.

DeKalb County Fire Rescue said the driver of a motorcycle was critically injured after he was thrown 10 to 15 feet onto the roadway by the buckling.

“I’m like, ‘Oh my God,’ this is so unbelievable,” said one driver at the scene.
