Senate Passes Roads Bill

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Working late into the evening, South Carolina senators passed the roads bill.

The measure that passed 33-10 would raise the state’s gas tax by 12 cents over the next six years.

That equates to close $800 million in increased revenue a year.

The bill now heads back to the house so representatives can consider the senate’s amendments before it heads to the governor’s desk.
