COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has launched a new project aimed at helping the thousands of workers who lost jobs due to the Nuclear Reactor decision.

SCANA and Santee Cooper Utilities halted construction Monday on the reactors, which are located at the VC Summer Nuclear plant.

The decision left thousands of workers out of a job.

McMaster says the rapid response coalition of public and private organizations “Employ SC” will begin holding job fairs as early as Monday.

The first event will be held in Chapin on Monday, August 14.
