Woman Arrested, Charged in Death of 4-year-old Daughter

Lexington, SC (WOLO) – A Lexington County woman has been arrested and charged in the death of her 4-year-old daughter.
According to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Cynthia Estrada-Lopez, 24, is charged with homicide by child abuse.

According to the Sheriff, investigators believe Estrada-Lopez restrained her daughter in the child’s bed, taped her mouth shut and abandoned her the evening of July 31.
LCSD says when EMS arrived at the house that night the child was unresponsive and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Estrada-Lopez remains in jail awaiting a bond hearing.
