Portion of Saluda Riverwalk to Close for Utility Work
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The City of Columbia’s Parks and Recreation Department will temporarily close a portion of the Saluda Riverwalk trail system starting on Monday, say city officials.
The portion will be closed from Monday, October 26, 2026 through Thursday, October 29, 2026 to accommodate sewer infrastructure work.
City officials say the closure will affect the downstream, eastern portion of the trail between the Millrace Boardwalk and Boyd Island.
The upstream portion of the Riverwalk will remain open for visitors to enjoy during the temporary closure.
Columbia Water is upgrading sewer infrastructure in the area.
Work scheduled for Monday will involve relining an existing pipe and installing a new manhole in the area.
Paving work on a portion of the walkway will be completed during closure.
The Saluda Riverwalk is located at 650 Candi Lane in Columbia.
