Governor McMaster Declares State of Emergency

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)–In anticipation of Hurricane Irma, Governor Henry McMaster issued an executive order Wednesday declaring a state of emergency.

The governor along with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division is urging residents to be prepared for the storm’s possible impact on the state.

The order allows state agencies to coordinate resources in preparation for Irma which is currently a category 5 Hurricane with sustained winds of 185 mph.
