COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–The City of Columbia is reminding drivers to avoid flood prone streets and intersections.
If Hurricane Irma strikes us here in the Midlands, they want you to be prepared.
Some of the streets include Gervais and Laurens… Main and Whaley… Harden and Santee.
It is recommended that if you do see a flooded street to turn around and do not try to drive through it.
Per the City of Columbia:
The City of Columbia urges drivers to use caution when driving during severe weather. The following streets and intersections are prone to flooding during heavy rain events. Please avoid these areas during and immediately after heavy rains.
