Richland County Opens Animal Shelter

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Richland County’s Emergency Animal Care Facility, located at 3216 Broad River Road, has opened their doors to some of your furry family members.

The facility opened it’s doors Sunday at 4 p.m. for only cats and dogs.

If you are thinking about dropping your pet off, cats must be in crates and dogs on leashes.

No exotic pets are accepted.

Pets must have current vaccination paperwork and no owner is allowed to stay with their pet at the facility.

The Sheriff’s Department has arrangements to house large animals, if needed. Call 803-576-3000 for information on sheltering large animals.
