Ben Boulware released by 49ers

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (WOLO) — One week after being signed by the 49ers, San Francisco decided Tuesday to release former Clemson linebacker Ben Boulware.

Boulware won the Jack Lambert award (top college linebacker) last season and was named the co-MVP of the national championship win against Alabama back in January.

He was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in May, but was released by Carolina earlier this month.
