Continuing Coverage: Vista Shooting Investigation, Arrests
COLUMBIA , SC (WOLO)–Columbia Police, SLED and other law enforcement continue to investigate a shooting in the Vista where multiple victims were shot.
It happened in the early morning hours Saturday.
Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announced Saturday that charges were filed against four male suspects in connection with the shooting.
Arrest warrants have been issued for the following male suspects according to police :
• John Bates, Junior faces Seven Counts of Attempted Murder, among other charges, say police
• Jarvis Tucker faces accessory after the fact charges, say police
• Keveas Gallman faces one count of attempted murder, according to police
• Maleik Houseal faces unlawful possession of a weapon charges, say police
According to investigators, Houseal was injured during the shooting incident and hospitalized. He will remain under police guard until his release at which time he will be arrested.
On Saturday afternoon Columbia police Chief Skip Holbrook updated the investigation at a press conference.
According to Holbrook , the incident was the result of two parties exchanging gunfire.
Chief Holbrook said the shooting was in the location of Empire Supper Club, 4 males, 4 females injured most in mid 20’s.
They are looking for vehicles of interest and are reviewing surveillance cameras and video.
The Chief has declared Empire Supper Club on Lady St. a public nuisance. Business license revoked, doors padlocked.
Deputy Chief Kelly says multiple people were hurt, ranging from critical to grazes, near Park and Lady Streets.
Reports of shots fired came in at 2:12 a.m., say police.
Deputy Chief Kelly did say where the shooting took place was “heavily populated” at the time.
Columbia Police say they will be looking at surveillance cameras from the area. They are asking if anyone has information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC.
