Lexington deputies train to save lives

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) –

Learn how to save a life. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is now training all deputies with new live-saving equipment. With a 20 second countdown deputies are learning how to stop a victims bleeding with a tourniquet. Instructor Matt Young says studies show if you can control a serious injuries bleeding your chances of survival go up by at least 85%. Every deputy is expected to be fully trained by January.
