COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Keith Hanson is set to embark on a journey never believed to have been attempted before in South Carolina, spanning the distance of the Palmetto State, all for a cause close to his heart.

Over a three-day span, from November 2-5, Hanson is set to run 300 miles from the upstate to Folly Beach in an effort to raise awareness and funds for river conservation.

Keith, a Charleston native, is using his skills as a biologist and an unltramarathon runner together in his initiative that will benefit American Rivers, the nation’s leading organization for river conservation.

Part of his journey will take him directly through Columbia either Friday November 3 or Saturday November 4, based on his progress along a route along the state’s rivers, planned for him by his team of seven people planning, organizing, and bringing awareness to this cause.
