COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Frank Martin was in attendance Monday night at the MLK Bash, scouting Ridge View center Malcolm Wilson.
Wilson, a three-star prospect with offers from Clemson, South Carolina and South Carolina State, finished his night at 11 rebounds in the Blazers’ 50-45 loss to Keenan.
According to SEC Country, Martin and the Gamecocks have expressed high interest in Wilson.
“We’ve been communicating, texting back and forth,” Wilson told SEC Country. “I’m not sure when I’ll be back there. [Assistant coach Chuck Martin’s] a really calm guy, like me. It doesn’t feel like I have any pressure when I’m talking to him. It’s just a good conversation.”
The Gamecocks offered a scholarship to the 6’11 junior last June.
