Gamecocks assistant named candidate for Oklahoma State job

Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina defensive line coach Lance Thompson has bounced around the southeast for much of his career.
According to ESPN, he is a candidate for yet another position.
ESPN’s Jake Trotter reported that Thompson is 1 of 6 potential candidates to replace former Oklahoma State Defensive Coordinator Glenn Spencer. Glenn Spencer was recently fired, after being the coordinator for the Cowboy’s since 2011.

Thompson was a Defensive Coordinator for UCF from 2004-2006. Will Muschamp brought Thompson with him to USC after working with him back at Auburn in 2015.
Thompson recently received a raise, putting his current salary at $550,000. According to USA Today, Spencer made $675,000 last year.
