COLUMBIA , SC (WOLO)– Free clinics are critical to medical care in our state.
That was the message Tuesday and Wednesday at the South Carolina Free Clinics Association Conference at the Hilton Columbia Center hotel.
Organizers say close to 39,000 patients seek medical treatment at free clinics each year.

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation executive director Erika Kirby spoke at the conference.

According to BlueCross BlueShield, there are 41 free clinics across the state of South Carolina.
