City to Hold Black History Month Parade and Festival

  COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The City of Columbia is celebrating Black History Month with a parade and festival.

 The 14th Annual Karamu Black History Parade and Festival is being held Saturday, February 3 at the corner of Harden and Gervais streets.

 This year’s parade grand marshal is former state Representative Bakari Sellers.

City organizers sat the festival will include exhibitors, vendors and live entertainment. Musical acts include the 69 Boyz, Marcus Hawkins, Salil Myers, Tiffany J and Musical Solutions.

  The parade will kick off at 12 p.m. at the corner of Harden and Gervais streets and will travel south on Harden Street and end at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park located at 2300 Greene St. The Black History Festival will begin at 1:15 p.m. at the park.
