Protecting Emergency Responders

Columbia, SC (WOLO) —

Protecting the lives of the people who save ours.

Thursday afternoon Senator Thomas Alexander of Oconee County and Representative Peter McCoy announced

bi-partisan legislation that would increase the penalties for anyone who unlawfully injures a first responder.

That includes Firefighters, Doctors, Nurses, and EMT’s.

South Carolina is only one of three State’s that do not have any such law in place.
