WALTERBORO, S.C. (AP) – Six people have been arrested after a woman’s body was found buried in woods near her South Carolina home.
The arrests come after the body of 30-year-old Ashley Murdaugh was found Tuesday near her home near Walterboro.
Colleton County Sheriff’s Capt. John Chapman said 53-year-old Cynthia Caron, 23-year-old Alfred Taylor Jr. and 30-year-old Martina Wolf are charged with murder. Fifty-three-year-old John Dunigan was charged as an accessory after murder.
Two people were arrested Wednesday night. Wayne Moore and Tammy Lott also face accessory charges.
Murdaugh was reported missing Aug. 8 after she failed to show up for her child’s birthday. Chapman said investigators think Murdaugh was killed Aug. 5.
Authorities are awaiting autopsy results to determine how she died.
It was not known if any of those charged have attorneys.
