Avoid donation scams

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The State Department of Consumer Affairs wants you to be on the lookout for scams in the wake of Hurricane Florence.

If you’re donating, the Department says give to well known charities, know where your money is going, and never give cash instead, try to write a check so you’ll have a record of your giving.
